The dot SE country-code top-level domain name extension was created in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its establishment, the registration process was quite restrictive, so a very limited number of domains were bought. Persons were permitted to secure no more than one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was mandatory, i.e. only Swedish persons, companies and organizations were able to reserve a dot SE domain.
